Miss "Polk" Salad Festival

Roane County

Beginning in the morning at the David Webb Waterfront Park in Harriman, the festival kicks off with old-fashioned fun including sack races and other games.  A parade of classic cars escorts the 2008 hopefuls for the crown to the downtown area in the early afternoon where the actual pageant takes place.   

The Miss Polk Salad Pageant and Festival celebrates spring with newly grown greens (poke), pretty women, classic cars, music and fun.  Held annually in the downtown streets of Harriman, the pageant takes place in front of the Princess theater.  Classic cars and vendors line the downtown street during the afternoon in anticipation of the crowning.  Polk Salad is available for tasting.
